MORE ABOUT ALAN
20 years ago, Alan found passion for food manufacturing and processing during an internship with New Belgium Brewing. Disrupting the established internship program focused on labs or hospitals, by convincing his counselor a brewery was a great idea, led Alan to pursue Food Safety and Quality Assurance roles with titans of food manufacturing. While in these roles, the value of proper and purposeful technology to drive success became apparent to Alan. At Tyson Foods, he managed teams and used computer systems on the production floor. As the corporate Supplier Quality Manager at Leprino Foods, he developed early digital versions of supplier approval and specification documentation to reduce cost, increase efficiency and aid in the implementation of new technology and SAP.
In the last 10 years, Alan has worked with QSR, e-commerce and fast casual restaurants and food retail. He assisted Noodles & Company streamline food safety and quality assurance practices allowing for consistent franchise expansion and a successful IPO. At Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Alan helped the company successfully merge co-branded programs with Caribou Coffee, leading to exploration of international business expansion. Later, in the meal-kit start up industry, he led the food safety and quality assurance programs while developing a world class teams. These efforts at Green Chef directly contributed to the successful acquisition by Hello Fresh, the leading global meal-kit service today. While at Jack in the Box, Alan led the restaurant and supply chain food safety programs while managing a laboratory and call center. As Alan transitioned from manufacturing into restaurant retail his focus remained on delivering Safe, Smart, Quality food to every customer, every day.
